Cost by garage size

1-car$1,200–$3,900 (288–392 sq ft)$750–$3,000 (250 sq ft)
2-car$1,600–$5,800 (400–576 sq ft)$1,500–$6,000 (500 sq ft)
3-car$2,300–$8,600 (576–864 sq ft)$2,250–$9,000 (750 sq ft)

Cost per square foot

  • Epoxy, professionally installed: $4–$10/sq ft per HomeGuide (about $1–$5 materials and $3–$5 labor). Angi gives a wider $2–$12 range.
  • Polyurea: $5–$10/sq ft (HomeGuide).
  • Polyaspartic: $5–$12/sq ft; HomeGuide puts a 2-car polyaspartic floor at about $2,000–$6,900.

Angi notes labor typically makes up roughly 33–60% of the total.

What pushes the price up

  • Condition of the concrete. Patching cracks and pits runs about $25–$250 per repair area according to Angi. Badly scaled slabs may need resurfacing first, which HomeGuide estimates at $3–$7/sq ft.
  • Removing an old coating. Peeling paint or failed epoxy has to come off before a new system will bond. That's extra grinding time.
  • Moisture problems. A moisture-mitigating primer adds material cost.
  • System choice. Full-broadcast flake, quartz, metallic, or a polyaspartic topcoat generally cost more than a single-color epoxy.
  • Extras. Stem-wall coating, cove base, and moving stored items.

What can lower it

  • A newer slab in good shape with no existing coating.
  • A simpler finish (solid color or light flake).
  • Flexible scheduling outside the busiest season.

DIY kits vs professional

Store-bought kits cost far less up front, but they're usually thinner, water-based products applied over acid-etched (rather than ground) concrete. HomeGuide estimates water-based epoxy lasts about 3–5 years, versus 10–20 years for 100% solids systems.
